Water verticals:
Water utilities, government entities & infrastructure.
Water has always been central to my professional journey. I started out in technology commercialisation, but when I chose to focus on a specific sector, water stood out as both essential to life and full of untapped potential for innovation.
My early work with utilities gave me exposure to the full water value chain, from sourcing and treatment through to distribution, wastewater, and reuse.
This operational perspective was later complemented by my work in governance and risk assessment, where I came to appreciate the broader systems that shape how water is managed and valued.
What continues to drive me is the opportunity to connect global innovation with regional realities. Every context brings its own set of constraints and opportunities, and the real impact comes from shaping solutions that are technically sound while also socially, economically, and environmentally relevant.
The biggest challenge ahead is not only water scarcity, but governance and alignment in the face of intensifying pressures from climate change, aging infrastructure, rapid urbanization, and competing demands.
The real test will be how effectively governments, industries, and communities collaborate to deliver integrated and equitable solutions.
We need to move beyond fragmented approaches and adopt a systems mindset that connects water with energy, food, and climate. Financing and scaling innovation will also be critical. Ultimately, the industry’s success will depend on its ability to balance urgent short-term needs with long-term sustainability.
I am a water strategy expert with experience working across the Middle East and internationally, helping governments and industries design policies, strategies, and frameworks for sustainable water management.
My work blends technical knowledge with stakeholder engagement, enabling me to bridge the gap between science, governance, and innovation.
Outside of work, I am a mother of four, which grounds me in the importance of building a better future for the next generation.
I am passionate about cultural diversity, continuous learning, and creating spaces where people and ideas can thrive.
Above all, I value integrity, collaboration, and resilience, qualities that I believe are essential for addressing the challenges we face in water and beyond.
